About FTFT
Why this website exists
I'm the sibling of a hikikomori. Through all the years my family spent finding our way, I kept wishing we had something like this: a place to understand what everyone else in the house was feeling, when none of us could say it out loud. That wish is why FTFT exists: I decided to build the thing my family never had.
FTFT is here so that parents, siblings, and hikikomori themselves can see each other's perspectives. A little understanding can turn a household of people struggling separately into a family working together, even through the most difficult times. I've walked beside my own family through the ups and the downs. If what we learned can make the road even a little gentler for another family, then this site is doing its job.
Thank you for being here. Take your time — the tanuki isn't going anywhere. 🦝
